Wikiality

Found this funny video clip on the word 'Wikiality' http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/72347/july-31-2006/the-word---wikiality
I'm enjoying the peace and quite.....the kids are in bed! Thought this time would be well spent learning about Wiki's. I'm having a hard time getting my head around the different type of Wiki's around, the whole process of being able to edit what others write doesn't seem right. The more sites I visit the more I can see allot of these Wiki's are a little more complex then just getting on and editing others work. Most of them are members only that can access the editing....understanding is beginning to take shape! I particularly like the 'Library Success - a best practices Wiki'. Of interest was the links "Banned Books" and "Reading Hollywood". What a great way to get teenagers reading! http://www.libsuccess.org/index.php?title=Displays

Interesting site on how the Banned Books display was implemented.

The Boyne Library....Where I work.....sometimes :)

The place to work!

Moving onto the next learning experience

Hi all

Wow, having a fantastic learning experience today....I love this flickr website....so many amazing photos, its hard to choose one to use. I love, love, love it....you have to go to this website....ITS A MUST DO! http://www.flickr.com/photos/rickneedle/2261464195/
Welcome to Jule's Realm.

A new leaning experience for me! I use Facebook, but had no idea that what I already do is blogging, twittering, etc...... There you go, you learn something new every day. I am now feeling a little more "hip" and am looking forward to the next lessons, after all they say that by continually learning you can avoid alzheimers!

With a very quick introdution into blogging, I am already seeing what a fantastic thing to use for the library.....(am so impressed with the Gold Coast Blurbit.....http://blurbit.wordpress.com/)

Until next time.....Jules
